Low Carb Diet Bread
When people start a low carb diet one of the things they miss the most is bread and other bread products like buscuits, rolls, and pizza dough. Bread is such a large part of our culture and is so important to many of our meals that it is hard for some people to deal with not having bread. In the US one of our national meals is the sandwich. A sandwich is just not the same without bread. Somehow holding in your hand a slab of meat and a hunk of cheese slathered in mustard does not sound like a lot of fun.
The other great American lunch, the hamburger, is just a meat patty with pickles if it doesn't have bun to hold everything together. When on a low carb diet it is very important to mostly cut out wheat and other grain products and this is usually what bread is made of. The alternative to this is to make bread out of a high protein food source like soy powder. If yo have trouble staying on your diet because of a craving for bread you owe it to yourself to look into new bread recipes that are low in carbs.

I know Jazz, this is one of the real hard parts of a low carb lifestyle. I have always been a meat and potatoes with bread guy but I need to make some changes for my health.
One of the best ways to keep away from a certain type of food is to simply stop buying that product at the grocery store. Most food is eaten at home anyway, so if you don't have it there, you've basically already won!
Great idea for my diet!
Low Carb Diet Tips
The following tips help me to stay true to my diet and to myself. I find the more I plan ahead to make my eating plan work the better the chances are I will be successful in eating only what I want to during the day.
Hopefully these tips will help you too.
- Keep a food log and write down everything you eat. This really makes it hard to cheat and shows you what situations you were in that helped to cause your slip.
- Drink 8 glasses of water a day
- If you are about to cheat go ahead and give yourself a treat just make sure it is low carb
- Make small goals that are attainable. don't say you want to lose 50 pounds, instead make the goal lowing 5 pounds every two weeks. Then celebrate when you hit a goal by doing something other than eating.
- Stay away from sugar. Sugar can be very addicting and once you start it is hard to stop.
- If there is food in the house that is tempting but you don't want to throw it away freeze it.
- If you know you will be in a tempted mood eat a few cheese curds or park rinds to stave it off
- If you are used to using food as a reward then change your reward system. Find something else you like besides food
These are some great tips when you are trying to stay on a low carb diet. These diets work and I give you my wholehearted hope that you will be successful.

I love my bread. Couldn't live without it. I don't know if I could make the switch to low carb, but it's definitely "food for thought"...
