If you want to get started with being your own boss a mlm business opportunity is definitely worth looking into and learning about.  One of the great things about mlm is you can start in the business for very little money.  In fact, if it costs you a lot of money to get started then I would look at the company very closely to make sure it is legit and that you are building something that will be around for a while.  Getting in on the ground floor can be good sometimes but can also be that the operators of the business are going to take the money form the new members and run to Mexico.

Now I know you are going to be saying, "but I need to sign up today so I can start building my business. I can't afford to take a week or two weeks researching companies.  I need to start now."  If this is your mind set then think of this.  What if you choose a company, pay to join, spend 6 months building up your business and then the MLM company folds.  You now have nothing after spending half a year of hard work.  Could you afford to do that?  I don't think so.

Instead, believe me, research different companies, their products, and their plans.  You will be amazed at what you learn and you will be much more knowledgable about network marketing opportunities.  The more you learn the better able you will be to find the mlm business opportunity that is a great fit for you.

The following questions are some that you should ask when researching a particular MLM business opportunity. The more information you get the better you will be able to make a decision on whether a particular network marketing opportunity is right for you or if you should keep looking. Spending extra time in the business exploration phase can really pay off down the road by giving you the business that will help you to reach your goals.

• Payout structure-how many tiers do they pay on
  
• Product purchasing-how much product do you have to purchase each month
• Age of company-how long has it been in business. If it is less than a year old be careful
• Training material-how will they help train and what is the cost of the material
• Payment time line-how long to you have to wait to get your commission check
• Product information-what is the product and why would people buy it

These are some important questions to ask of any new program. You can literally waste a year of your life if you don't choose the right company. Research into a MLM business opportunity can pay off handsomely down the road.
