MLM Network Marketing Lead

If you are like most multi-level marketing business owners you are running out of leads and out of ideas for leads.  MLM network marketing leads are the life blood of your business and if you don’t have them your organization will die.  Everything eventually dies that stops growing and if you are not generating leads and converting them then  you are not growing.

An important thing to remember when searching for leads is that it takes the right person to build a MLM business.  You need the people who will build their business so they can build your business at the same time.  There are a few traits that have been found to be very beneficial to people who are successful in network marketing.

The person must be able to take rejection.  It is too bad, but most people never build the business they dream of because they are so afraid of hearing the word no.  Good sales people understand that this is a numbers game and you have to play the numbers.  This means once you calculate your conversion rate for leads you will know how many people you must talk to in order to get a yes on average.

Let’s say you talk to ten people and you get two to sign up to your business.  Divide the number of people you talked to by the number of people who signed and you will get the conversion rate.  In our example above, we have ten people we pitch our opportunity to.  Of these, two people signed up to join our business.  So we divide 10 by 2 and get 5.  This means on average for every 5 people we pitch our business to we get 1 person who signs up.

Now let’s apply this to the numbers game analogy.  If we know that we have to talk to 5 people to get someone to join up then getting a rejection is no big deal.  Being rejected means that there is one person who is out of the way.  Now we only need to talk to 4 more people.  If we get a rejection from the first one of these people then there are only 3 left.  Looking at it this way we want to have rejections because that means we are closer to someone who will say yes.

Great salesmen and women use this analogy to keep their attitude positive when they get rejected.  If you think this way you realize that a rejection is nothing more than a way for you to get one step closer to a YES.

What To Do When Rejected

As we saw above rejection is a part of the game.  But that doesn’t have to mean that you can’t get some value out of the person who said no.  Always thank the person for their time and apologize that the opportunity did not fit their needs.  Next, ask if there is anyone they know of who is looking to make some extra money.  If they say yes, ask for the phone number of the person or people and give them a call.  This method is used to refresh you lead list.

When one of these leads signs on be sure to thank the person who gave you the name.  Call them back and tell them how much you appreciate putting you in contact with the person who signed.  The person who originally said no may have thought it over and decided they will try the off.
